Greater St. Louis Works and our partners at Trainiac, Inc. are developing cool new materials to assist IT professionals who need to make a job change due to lay-offs, downsizing, or other events outside their control. Bounce Back! is the theme of our initiative, which features a St. Louis resource guide and a deck of cards to help displaced techies set priorities for moving forward. Suggestions from IT professionals who’ve been there and done that are welcome. Please call or use the “contact us” form to let us know what you think.
Greater St. Louis Works is cooperating with Chicago-based SPR / nAblement in research that seeks to better understand the barriers faced by persons with physical disabilities who seek careers in Information Technology, computer science, and engineering. Employers who are willing to participate in a study now being conducted by professors at the Universities of Illinois and Wisconsin should contact nAblement Director Pat Maher at pmaher@sprinc.com or 630-220-8895.
Greater St. Louis Works and the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning are developing a report on exemplary practices in employer-sponsored tuition assistance and their impact on business. The report will include case studies or profiles of the exemplary practices in action, illustrated by St. Louis area firms that are using tuition assistance strategically. Companies that would like to participate in this research should contact Blair Forlaw at Greater St. Louis Works, 314-444-1149.
